This award was instituded by Keith Potters parents, Mr. & Mrs. Newton Potter, in memory of their son. Keith was a Hutchinson High School Goalie who passed away from cardiac arrest during a high school game in 1976.
This award was originally given to the outstanding goalie in Central Minnesota Hockey League, but then the league disbanded in later years, the award was then given annually to a goalie from the HHA.
This award is selected by vote of the HHA Board of Directors.
